What Is The Difference Between Dofollow And Nofollow Backlinks

Difference Between Dofollow And Nofollow Backlinks: As you all know that backlinks are very necessary for Off-page SEO. Because due to backlinks visitors of one site can find another same related topic or product on the same page.

Just take an example, if anyone is on the website look for “Best smartphones” then he will also see more links to other products, as well as users, created reviews. These links provide the major role because they took users from one page to another and that’s why google rank their websites because Google thinks it’s very useful website. When you get too many backlinks from Dofollow backlinks sites your site will probably rank to the first page in google.

Types of Backlinks: –

Mainly there are two types of backlinks

  • Dofollow Backlinks
  • Nofollow Backlinks

Dofollow Backlinks: –

dofollow-backlink

Dofollow is a link which allows the search Engines to follow our website to give us link juice as well as a backlink
for our website. So if the admin of one site is allowing you to link back to your site then the both Search Engines,
as well as humans, will be able to follow you. It is best to give someone a Dofollow love by allowing keyword
in the anchor text. This means you are linking with another page or website.

Here is the example of Dofollow link: –

<a href=”https//techiko.net /”>Techiko</a>

By default, all the links are Dofollow links. You don’t need to do anything to make Dofollow link.

Nofollow Backlinks: –

nofollow-backlink

Just like dofollow it’s also a backlink but as you know with dofollow backlink the human and search engines both can follow your website. But if the site owners give you link back with the nofollow attributes then you won’t get the link juice from their website. Because in the Nofollow attributes doesn’t allow site to be searched by the google bots. Only humans can follow that link.

An Example of Nofollow Backlink:-

<a href=”https://techiko,net/” rel=”nofollow”>Techiko </a>

Here is another example of Nofollow Backlink: –

<a href=”http://www.google.com/” rel=”external nofollow”>Techiko</a>

I recommend you to use this 2nd attribute in your sites. Because when you add external nofollow attributes then google bots will not consider the page which is going out from your page. But it consider the link which is redirected to your site. With this attribute you will get perfect link juice for your website.

Extra Knowledge

Nofollow is the HTML attribute which is used to instruct the search engines bots that the hyperlink should not be include the link targets in the search engine index. Although this was attributed was created to reduce the spams. Because people used to post spam posts, comments etc. This concept was introduced by the Matt Cutts and Jason Shellen in year 2005.

Important Note

Recently google announces that now they will also count the nofollow links as an outgoing links in term of the distribution of page rank from your page. Though it depends on where you have put your link. If you put it in the end of the page, then it will get less impact. But if you put your link in the top of the page, it carries some impact

Types of Nofollow

1.Robots Meta Tag

  • <meta name=”robots” content=”nofollow” />
  • <meta name=”robots” content=”external nofollow” />

This tag tells robots, spider and crawlers not to follow the page

2.Link Attributes: –

<a href=”http://www.google.com” rel=”nofollow”>

<a href=”http://www.google.com” rel=”external nofollow”>

This tells search engines not to count link the link in the term of ranking page
